MY LIFE AS A GODPARENT…

da' Godparents;- GiLLer, Togoron, Kilur, Nunald, Guntoto
with Fr. Rayner after the ceremony....
Firstly, I would like to wish congratulation to all new confirmands those receive their Sacrement of Confirmation on 26th September 2009 at St. Michael Church, Penampang. The special mass were conducted by archbishop Datuk John Lee and fathers from Penampang Parish :- Rev. Fr. Alex Sipanul, Fr. Jalius Sading and Fr. Rayner Bisius. Almost 200 new confirmands received sacrament after they had study about life as a catholic for about 2 years.

After the mass done, I got a new life as a catholic youth. I’m no longer just an ordinary catholic youth who served at church. Before the mass began, I already took highly-risky responsible in my life, that is to be a godparent. Being a godparent means a lot of thing will and should changed in my life. I took the challenge, not to mention others advices. But, I never disappointed with my decision to be a godparent because I had determined that I should changed my attitude before changed my life. How can I do that such things? To be a godparent. I should be a role-model and good example.

I think I can be a good godparent and I will not let them down. I had two boys whom sponsored by myself. Their names are Roland Chok and Melldry Mikin. They gave me first time experience being a godparent, and there are still more challenges yet to come but I’m very looking forward fot it. Being a godparent also mean I should never absence in any praying occasions especially if both of them attend it. I can’t give them negative impression because I don’t want them to follow the negative and bad example from me.

Anyway, I wish I can going through this hard and tough challenges as this is just the beginning of my simple life. I believe there’s a lot more extreme challenges lay ahead. I’m looking forward for it. I hope that my KBP’s mates can help me, and I believe they will help me because my KBP’s big-family were very supportive and we’ve been through a lot of things together. May God Bless Us. Amen.
